The Second Annual Vermont Hemp and Cannabis Convention, part of New England’s largest cannabis convention series NECANN, returns to Vermont May 18-19 at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction for two full days of exhibitions, educational seminars, and speakers related to medical marijuana, industrial hemp, CBD wellness products, and the ever-growing New England cannabis industry.

Keynote Speaker Larisa Bolivar

With medical and personal use cannabis legal in Vermont, and the legislature actively debating a taxed and regulated commercial market, the public’s interest in cannabis continues to grow. The second annual Vermont Cannabis and Hemp Convention represents the next step in elevating and connecting the cannabis industry and culture within Vermont, and with regional partners representing all six New England states.

The show will take place at the Champlain Valley Expo May 18-19 and includes a keynote address on Saturday from Larisa Bolivar, M.A., founder and CEO of Colorado-based Bolivar Hemp Company, a hemp-based line of topical and skincare products.

Ms. Bolivar has over 18 years’ experience in the cannabis space, leading in multiple capacities, and is a recognized industry pioneer in Colorado by Sensi Magazine.

Keynoting on Sunday is Vermont Lt. Gov David Zuckerman, a longtime progressive and a champion of cannabis reform in the Green Mountain State.

During his two decades in Vermont politics, Lt. Gov. Zuckerman’s success has been in mobilizing and organizing grassroots support for progressive issues from same-sex marriage to GMO labelling to livable wages.

NECANN-VT also features programming on numerous aspects of cannabis business, medicine, and cultivation, including startup lessons from legal states, extraction and processing methods, launching and marketing your legal cannabis brand, and using cannabis for medical and therapeutic purposes.

Cultivation sponsors White River Grow Pro will be offering potency testing at booth 40 all weekend with their SAGE Analytics machine, which delivers test results in under two minutes without destroying samples.

Attendees are welcome to bring their flower and concentrate for testing during the convention at a special show rate of $20 per sample. Security sponsors Vermont Security will also be running a demo at booth 106, “Securing your Cannabis Crop,” at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon.

“We were pretty maxed out on space for last year’s event,” says organizer Monica Donovan, CEO of Heady Vermont. “We’re excited to move to a larger venue and make room for the growing public interest in all things cannabis.”

The expo floor will showcase over 100 exhibitors and vendors from across New England and the country, including equipment manufacturers, medical cannabis dispensaries, home cultivation suppliers, advocacy groups, CBD products and a wide range of ancillary businesses related to the cannabis plant and industry. Outside, there will be food trucks and vendors serving up a wide range of locally sourced dishes for hungry convention-goers.

NECANN-VT is locally produced by Heady Vermont and sponsored by Trace, White River Growpro, Vermont Security, CannaPlannersGMC Proprietors, Vermont Pure CBD, Farm Fresh Hemp, 802 Hemp Oil and Seven Days.

“We are looking forward to connecting with the entrepreneurs, advocates, investors, growers, from the Vermont cannabis community,” says NECANN co-founder, Marc Shepard, “and continuing our mission of empowering New Englanders to connect and take control of and benefit from the amazing opportunities cannabis – in all its forms – holds.”
