What Vermont Dispensaries Will Be Open?

In Vermont, weed shops open in the morning for the first time on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Mountain Girl Cannabis opens at 11 a.m., and FLORA opens at 11 a.m.

Mountain Girl Cannabis

174 West Street
Rutland, VT

Hours: 11am to 6pm Thurs-Mon
Closed Tues-Wed

Mountain Girl Cannabis was named to honor Carolyn Garcia, a lifelong advocate for legalization, sustainable cannabis cultivation, and educated consumption. The store’s founders are Ana and Josh MacDuff.

Born in the Andes mountains of Colombia, Ana MacDuff was a management and IT professional working for insurance and waste management firms before shifting to cannabis. Josh MacDuff got his start in the insurance and credit union world, before becoming an advocate helping hemp farmers and retailers find the insurance they need to succeed.

This store was awarded the first social equity retail license in Vermont. See more about the founders of Mountain Girl in this recent Seven Days piece and commentary in their recent Heady Vermont feature.

Hours on opening day: 11am-6pm on Saturday, October 1.

Flora was started by two Middlebury locals—Michael Sims, an entrepreneur and marketing professional with five years of experience in the hemp and CBD industry, and Dave Silberman, an attorney who specializes in cannabis law.
