Strain Review: Passenger Pigeon by Clover Hill Cannabis

Next up in our Headies strain reviews is the fast-acting, relaxing Passenger Pigeon by Clover Hill Cannabis – Third place winner in the Headies Cup 2022 Indica Flower category. Clover Hill also recently received a Tier One Indoor Cultivator license from the Vermont Cannabis control Board. 

Passenger Pigeon is absolutely saturated in reflective crystals. Long, orange stigmatic hairs stretch forth from the interior of this frosted beauty, offering a “furry” looking, light green bud.

After ripping open the succulent sample for the grinder, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my fingers smelled of gassy skittles.

The initial smell out of the jar offered a more earthy smell, but after ripping open the succulent sample for the grinder, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my fingers smelled of gassy skittles – just absolutely exploding with sweet, fruity overtones. Opening the grinder, the gassiness takes over the fruity notes, but an underlying sweetness remains. This bud ground quickly and cleanly, and was skillfully cured.

A heavier smoker will enjoy the quick onset and heavy mental high that this strain offers.

Passenger Pigeon burned well and, despite being saturated in trichomes, was not overly sticky and would be excellent for pre rolls or cones. I felt a tickle in my nose and had a slight cough upon exhale. I was surprised to find an earthy, gassy, dank taste that countered the sweet aroma. The medium, milky white smoke did not yellow quickly in the bong.

Within a few minutes I felt a heavy head high. After one hit I felt relaxed, stress free, and content. As with many indica strains, the Passenger Pigeon makes for a strong, relaxing high that should be enjoyed by lighter smokers in the evening or on low key days. A heavier smoker will enjoy the quick onset and heavy mental high that this strain offers.
