Recipe: Cozy Infused Pomegranate Mulled Cider
Croptober is one of the best times of year for ingredients. It’s a period of transition, when the colors are still changing, the weather is shifting, and savory fruits and warm spices flood local markets.
That abundance can be enjoyed throughout the holidays. When the daylight hours shorten and the wind chill drops, it’s time to warm up and slow down a bit with a batch of mulled infused apple cider. We love this variation with pomegranate.
- 8 ounces apple cider
- 1 ounce pure pomegranate juice
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 1/4 teaspoon white peppercorns
- 1 green cardamom pod, crushed
- 1 whole clove
- 1/4 teaspoon whole peppercorns
- Preferred tincture
Put the juices in a large pot or slow cooker. Add the rest of the ingredients (except your tincture) and bring to a simmer. Place the spices into a mesh bag if you want easier cleanup. Turn down the heat and let steep for at least an hour. Strain before serving and adding in your preferred dose of CBD or THC tincture. Dose carefully! Adjust for product strength and user tolerance.
Makes around one cup. Scale up if you’re sharing!
