Heady Vermont is excited to announce our Women In Cannabis Summit, coming to Main Street Landing on Saturday, April 11, 2020.

The mission of the summit is to engage, empower, and educate women in the cannabis and hemp industry through close collaboration with female-driven organizations and entrepreneurs – though people of all gender identities and expressions are welcome to attend.

Programming will take the form of panel discussions, solo presentations, and interactive workshops, and topics will center around issues like equity, social and environmental responsibility, brand building, raising capital, advocacy, best practices, legal issues, banking challenges, growing and processing, and leadership, and will take place in three programming rooms with more than fifteen total sessions throughout the day.

“As the cannabis industry grows on a global, national, & local scale, I believe we, as women, have a desire and a responsibility to shape the industry.”

“This is going to be such an important event,” says Summit sponsor Patricia Eames, owner of Clover Gift Shop in Woodstock, where she carries many cannabis products, including her own CBD line. “As the cannabis industry grows on a global, national, & local scale, I believe we, as women, have a desire and a responsibility to shape the industry. The summit,” she adds, “will be a place where women can connect, be resources for each other, lift each other up, and start turning visions into reality.”

Commissioner Shaleen Title of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission with serve as the Summit’s Keynote Speaker. The recipient of several awards for her advocacy and inclusivity work, Commissioner Title co-authored the Massachusetts marijuana legalization referendum, has served in the social justice seat on the MCCC since 2017, and was a founding board member of the Minority Cannabis Business Association.

“It’s our hope that Commissioner Title can share her wisdom, perspective, and advice from the Massachusetts legalization experience.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Commissioner Title to our inaugural Summit event,” says Heady Vermont CEO Monica Donovan. “It’s important that as we move forward with legalization here in Vermont, we do so in a thoughtful way that benefits all Vermonters, and it’s our hope that Commissioner Title can share her wisdom, perspective, and advice from the Massachusetts legalization experience.”

Early bird tickets for the Women In Cannabis Summit are $99 and can be purchased at the WIC event site. Childcare will be available, and attendees are also welcome to participate in a raffle fundraiser for Planned Parenthood of New England.

Thanks also to event sponsors Lily Hill CBD, AroMed Aromatherapy, and Main Street Landing Company.
