Ceres Natural Remedies To Open New Downtown Burlington Location

Heady Vermont Staff 3 Nov 2017

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Keeping pace with explosive growth of interest and production of CBD and cannabis products in Vermont and nationwide, the locally-owned and operated Ceres Natural Remedies is expanding and moving their primary retail space to a new, larger location in downtown Burlington.

The new Ceres store will be located on the 190 block of College Street, in the space recently vacated by “Orange Leaf”, a juice bar across the street from The Archives, a popular arcade bar. The location will represent a dramatic increase in square footage from the current location on the Burlington Bike Path and anchor the cannabis plant and industry in a primetime, spotlight location just steps away from the Church Street Marketplace, Burlington’s busy pedestrian outdoor mall.

The new Ceres Shop will be located on the190 Block of College Street in what was previously an Orange Leaf Juice Bar

Ceres Management say that the shop is expected to open on December 10 and that while hours are not yet finalized, they’re planning to be open seven days a week, similar to other Church Street Marketplace retail stores.

When asked how the new location might help increase awareness and understanding of CBD and cannabis in general, Ceres Senior Management said, “Our goal is to educate first about the cannabis sativa plant, so we hope people will be curious and walk into the store to speak with our knowledgeable staff about hemp-based products.”

Ceres say that the expansion will also lead to new cannabis jobs and that they hope to add three to four new positions with Ceres in the Burlington location.

The existing Ceres Natural Remedies location in Burlington is on the BurlingtonBike Path but lacks enough space to keep up with the diversity of CBD and hemp products, as well as the public demand for a place to learn more about CBD and other herbal remedies and to see the wide range of products available.

Ceres already buy and sell locally-produced Vermont CBD and Hemp products and say that they are finalizing their product lists now (just in time for 20+ VT hemp companies to present at the CBD Hemp Farmers Market this Sunday) and that they hope to carry as many Vermont brands as possible and that they’ll also carry many more alternative plant-based medicines, including natural remedies for treating Lyme Disease and creams for neuropathic pain.

Local Cannabis In Action: Join us this Sunday, November 5, at the first ever CBD x Hemp Farmers’ Market from 12:00-6:00pm at One Main Street, next to the Ceres Shop. The event will feature food trucks, hemp beer, raffles and giveaways, demonstrations and more from the 25 local Vermont CBD and Hemp Cultivators and Businesses in attendance.
