In Time-Honored Tradition, UVM Co-eds Spark Up on 4/20 En Masse

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Under a brilliant spring sun and the watchful eye of a hefty security turnout, hundreds of University of Vermont students gathered yesterday at the Redstone campus green in time-honored celebration of 4:20 p.m. on 4/20.

In spite of heavy policing, students were festive and pre-rolled joints to light up when the countdown began from 4:19. Paramedics were present to assist one female student who was taken to the hospital via ambulance. The crowd dispersed in a few short minutes, as students scattered in search of their next class — or perhaps a few munchies.
